I hate my job. I just detest it. I hate where I go to work. I hate what I have to wear. I hate the people I work with, few of them anyway. I hate the stupid-monkey-thankless work I do. I hate everything about it now.
Colby came to my rescue today. This was our text conversation today:
kara9080: i hate my job :(
Colby mobile: Baby i want to take you away from all of that and make you happy. I hope they call off class, just so we can spend some time together i love you so much xoxoxox
kara9080: oh baby your words make me smile and feel better. thank you
Colby mobile: Thats my job and i can't tell you how important it is to me to do well. love u
So I called him when I left work to go to lunch and he was going to finish up the call he was on and come meet me for lunch. He didn’t make it in time so I got his lunch to go and met him in the parking lot at work to spend 10 minutes with him. That 10 minutes made him and I both feel better about the day. Then after lunch I get this text:
Colby mobile: i love you :)
kara9080: :D thank you. you really do make me feel better. i love you too. Xoxo
He just makes me feel wonderful. I’m getting used to his “lines” and finally believing they aren’t “lines” at all but really how he feels and how he really wants me to feel.
Kansas City weather is crazy. It was upper 60s yesterday, office was uncomfortably warm and the air was stuffy. I went to lunch, ate in my car and the sun on me was hot! Today, it is in the 30s and starting raining about 6:30am and is changing over to freezing rain/sleet and then snow – up to several inches.
Lincoln is growing and changing. I can’t believe in 3 months my baby will be 5 years old! WHAT?! No, seriously, that is crazy. I was just nursing him and changing his diapers. He was just a blob of a fat baby who coo’d and smiled at us. Where does the time go?
He doesn’t like his daycare much. He complains about once a week of not wanting to go. There are several reasons he doesn’t want to go but I’m not worried or alarmed about the reasons. He just doesn’t like structure and being told what to do. He wants to go to “school” with Henry and be a “big boy”. In August he’ll join the ranks of “real school” and go to kindergarten at the same school as his beloved brother.
In the mean time, he’ll stay at Petra’s in preschool and ready himself for kdg – which I’m afraid will really make him bored in school. He is writing his letters and numbers and learning polygons and acute triangles. Geesh!
