•It's Friday! Or feels like it Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I have the next 5 days off from my day job - woohoo!
I work tonight but then I'm off Wednesday and Thursday ALL DAY! Off Friday during the day, work Friday night then I'm going out with the girls to Raoul's Velvet Room. Never been and several of us are planning trying an Espresso Martini (Kahlua, Smirnoff Vanilla, espresso & layer of cream). YUM! What a great way to finish out the week.
Since I've got this second job I'm realized how much I really am an extrovert and I get my recharging by being around other people. I'm also not taking for granted the time I spend with the boys anymore. When I'm with them, I am more patient... or rather that I am aware that I need to slow down and look at my actions and the long term affects on the kids. I'm not with them as much as I used to be so my time with them now is concentrated and it needs to be the best of my best.

So even though I am working more, I am getting out to socialize more. The boys are at Celso's more and their relationship with him has grown so much since I got this second job - blessing is disguise really. I didn't imagine the job would benefit us like that.

•My mom and I have slightly chilled out. However, I need to share a picture with you. She gives this 'look' quite often. It is a disapproving look, disgusted look and a hint of confusion thrown in there. I was trying to show her my cell phone and that I could take pictures with it even when it is isn't flipped open. So I'm showing her the picture and she made this face and SNAP, I took the picture. Scroll down...

She had NO IDEA I was going to take her picture but that made it all the better. That is her true face that she makes! It used to irk me to no end... no, not irked, it pissed me off. What a disgusting disapproving face but now it makes me laugh. I emailed it to her AND put it on our computer at home as the background picture.

•Update on my journey

•T-Day is at my house. Celso, Lidia and the boys of course. Celso's siter and BIL are coming and maybe his mom but probably not. I'm fixing mr.turkey the American way (I thought Lidia was going to fix it but we decided I would). I'll fix my favorite sides then have her bring whatever dishes she wants to bring. Guess it'll be more pot luck but it's food and I love food. Since it'll be at my house my mom can go upstairs and hibernate in her room away from us instead of sitting around and making that above face.

•Teaching Sunday school isn't what I thought it'd be. I'm co-teaching with 2 other teachers - both whom have taught SS before. But they both have no shown up for several of their scheduled days. Both are selective on responding to emails. Both are prepared when they teach but are no-shows when they are supposed to assist. Neither come to SS when they are scheduled off - no big deal but I go every Sunday. If I'm not teaching I go to an adult SS class and Henry goes to our class. Point for Henry - he is the only kid in the class that hasn't missed a day Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting actually come to think of it, Lincoln's teacher mentioned the same thing this last Sunday too so both are the only ones in their class who haven't missed a day Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting that outta count for something, right?
So one teacher I haven't felt comfortable with since early on - it was her kid who slugged me in the chest. Well this last Sunday she left the room to do an errand and her kid got ON the tables and jumped around! He is in the first grade and knows better. Clearly the kid has issues. He knocked over a little girls hot chocolate and it was just chaos. I wanted to page his mother to return to the class STAT!
I've wondered if I have what it takes to be a teacher - in elementary school or a preschool setting and I really think I'd be great at it and really get to enjoy my job but after being around this kid... I guess not. I can't handle him, I don't LIKE him and he makes me close myself off. He's wild with his mother in the room and most kids are on good behavior when their parent isn't around but obviously this kid isn't like most kids. She said he has a problem with authority - no kidding.
This is our last Sunday in this situation I hope. After the holiday we're combing the kindergarten and first grade classes. Second grade is with us now but they'll join the third graders since they are alone and only have 3 students in that class. So the 2 teachers with the kindergarten classes will be joining us - making it 5 teachers! I hope it'll work better than it has been working. I teach this Sunday to close out the quarter Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
