I had the bestest weekend!! 5 days off from my day job is fabulous. I feel like I had a major reset button pushed. I was off all day Wednesday and Thursday and kicked ass around the house and made up for some serious lacking in housekeeping duties. Made the turkey and fixings - my mom made noodles with the kids and broc/rice casserole. We had pecan pie from Dean & Duluca that was given to me and I sucked it up, tried it, and LOVED it!! YUM! We also had a pumpkin cheesecake tort that a good friend made and it was gourmet! She's fabulous really. She has started a pie-of-the-month club for her pie addict friends and December is chocolate something. If I'm lucky it'll have flaming candy canes!

I played with the kids Friday during the day, worked that night then went out with the girls afterwards. That place, Raoul's - too expensive for my ignorant ass. $10 cover, erm, okay. Then I ordered my first martini - a chocolate one (forgot about the espresso that I planned on ordering) and it was $7.75 and with a $1 tip. yeouch! I went back to the bar after that and planned on ordering a good old Boulevard Unfiltered wheat beer but some girls in front of me were all ordering 'Grey Goose Very Dirty' martinis (or whatever they were called) so I said to myself, "Try one Kara!" so I did... damn thing was $9 and again, the $1 tip. Shit. Whatever. One of the girls I went with snuck in a bottle of whiskey and split it with all of us so we ordered several rounds of Coca-Cola. Cheap asses we are but DAMN!

Saturday was great - as it was another all-day-play-day. LOVE those :o)

Church and Sunday School on Sunday then I worked in the afternoon. Finished up a nice, long, restful, productive weekend.

The funny: Lincoln has been asking why I have green(blue) eyes and he has brown eyes. My answer was that is what God chose for him (didn't think a genetics talk at age 3 was going to go over well). Well Lincoln's reaction was like that he got jipped. He didn't want brown eyes - he wants green like Mommys! I told him that was God's plan. He still wasn't pleased so I suggested he talk to the pastor at church - and sure enough he did. I would have bet money he'd chicken out and not speak up but he did. He asked her straight out and spoke clearly. "Why did God give Mommy green eyes and I got brown?" She gave him the same reasoning that I did and he just looked at her and waited for more of an explanation. Haha, lil twerp. So she told him that God had a plan for a little boy named Lincoln and he was to have brown eyes and then she hugged him". He accepted the hug and knew the conversation was over so he nodded at her and went on his way. The End. ;-)
