Debunking the myth that Halloween class parties are synonymous with sugary treats.

At Henry's p/t conferences a couple weeks ago I told the teacher that we were getting away from refined sugar and HFCS and asked that the daily snacks they have be low in sugar. She seemed to take it well and said she'd be more aware of what the parents brought and what was served to Henry

I suggested 'sweetly' HA! that they should steer away from sugar at the party. Doubt the kids will ask "Where's the sugar?" anyway.

So fast forward to this week - I'm on the class party food committee and the organizer calls me this week and says "Ms.F said no sugar for the Halloween party so I don't know what we'll come up with..." after listening to me go on and on (heh) she was pleasantly surprised that they could have a party without sugary treats. (Yay Kara!) So the treats will be: Pirate Booty (at Henry's request), fruit/veggie faces and popcorn.

Comments:
That's great! I'm sure the kids will like that stuff just as much anyway.
