I LOVE FALL WEATHER!
I've had the windows open at the house for over a week now. That long heat wave snapped and we went straight into fall and I'm not complaining. This is the weather we can wear shorts or pants, short sleeved or long and we're all comfortable. Nice, cool, crisp mornings to wake up to. The only problem I'm having is the dark mornings - it makes it difficult for me to get up and actually believe the clock when it says it is 6:15am and its still dark outside. I don't like getting out of bed when its dark outside so its a slow adjustment for me.
Henry and I went to his first Tiger Cub meeting last night. I volunteered to be den mother/leader. I think it's for the school year and I know this is the slowest year for scouts and I know *nothing* about scouts so it'll work just fine.
I'm pleased with the boys that are in the group. 5 out of the 8 boys on the soccer team joined scouts. 2 others played basketball with Henry and the eighth boy was in Y-Care with Henry last year so Henry knows them all! I love the togetherness of the school and activities.
I teach my first Sunday School class this weekend. The last class went really well but that pesky, wild child wasn't there. The teacher I like was there - it was just her and I. The wild childs mother is a teacher and it'll be her and I this Sunday. I'm not excited.
I also volunteered to do some Excel work for the church. I need organization and the SS rosters are messy and can easily be cleaned up on an Excel spreadsheet so I'm doing it for them. Guess you could say my motto is: Don't like it their way, do it your way. My way. I like my ways.
Saturday afternoon/evening the 4 boys and I are going with a group from church to "Pome on the Range" campfire with weenie roasting and smores, hayride and apple picking. Sounds fun!
This last weekend we had 3 soccer games on Saturday. 9am, 1:15pm & 3:30pm Busy! Henry made FIVE goals and was on fire! He looked really good out there. We won, although we're not supposed to be keeping score, 13 - 0! Henrique's game was less exciting but a nice change from watching the litte guys. Bryant played great and even scored a goal! He is looking really good this season!
Grammy bought Henry an early bday present last Friday - an MP3 player! He is in love!
I downloaded songs for him yesterday and he didn't put that thing down last night. Big hit!
His real birthday is next Wednesday - 7 years old. Wow! How time flies! I'm making his bday invitations today. He sketched a picture of him and his friends at the house and I'm adding text. He's having a pizza/movies/popcorn/soda party. I'm allowing him to invite 8 friends - he picked 6 boys and 2 girls. 2 of the boys will be invited to sleep over for the night. Big fun!
