Focus on good thoughts... focus on good thoughts...
This last weekend was so much fun! I went to the lake with some friends and we spent nearly 6 hours on the boat! Both Henry and Lincoln went tubing (I'm SO sorry I didn't get pictures! I wish I would have thought to buy a disposable camera!), we anchored and went swimming a couple times, ate lunch on the boat which was fun, relaxing and so new for all of us. We went to their clubhouse and went swimming in the pool too - BIG DAY! We had so much fun and it was great to spend time with them.
Sunday is rained most of the day we we hung out at home most of the day. I did go get my hair trimmed and learned that I have enough (10") to get it cut off to donate to Locks of Love. It'll be short but still able to pull it back into a ponytail - which is my security blanket I think. I'm really quite nervous about getting it cut off that short. I am getting headaches and some are stress related but I think the weight of my hair also gives me headaches.
I've been downloading music a lot recently. Music makes me feel good and distracts me from my troubles and the stress that surrounds me.
Went to Celso's therapist appointment last night. It was hard... I cried. We both said that our relationship was only 50% good and that it wasn't worth it since the 50% bad is horrible. I am happier already with Celso gone overall. I miss watching TV with him at night, or seeing the kids with him but only 10% of me misses him really so that speaks volumes.
So we said that we'll find time to sit down together and fill out the divorce papers. I was really sad at the appointment and last night but today I feel better. A friend mentioned to me yesterday that I'll need to change one of my email addresses and my IM screen names. That was a downer to think about and realize that it really is ending.
I'm trying to come up with enough $ so I can go to Oklahoma this weekend to visit my family. My Dad lives there, along with his mom and his sister. If I go, my plan is to see my Dad and stepmom Friday and Saturday and then go to see my Grandma and Aunt early Sunday morning and then go home early Monday. I've sold some things so I have some of the money but I need more... damn expensive gas.
Next weekend, the 22nd is my birthday party! Another friend of mine is turning 30 too, well she turned 30 this week but we're having the party together. Family and friends and good times! We're going to grill burgers and brats and have music for everyone to dance to and hang out. Not sure how'll it'll go but we're getting a karaoke machine and its BYOB so I hope it does turn into a real party! I am planning on crashing there if I do end up drinking too much to drive home. Mom is coming with the boys but they'll go home before the adult party kicks up.
Henry is doing better. He seemed to be well rested after our camping long weekend July1-2. He's been going to bed good so he's getting some decent sleep and is enjoying the FTC. This week they seemed to have an exciting week! I'll have to recap it later.
The new girl ratties are doing well. I've named them Dora (the hooded ) and Sally (the cream havana). Dora is so nice and enjoys being held but she's very active. I have a fanny/waist pack that I put on and when I open the door she hops right on to it, crawls in and is ready to be toted around the house. Sally is dominant one over Dora but she's friendly too. She has been nibbling, softly biting my fingers and freaking me out. Makes me nervous since Sweetie is an aggressive biter. I've talking to my rat forum about it and someone suggested squeaking or EEPing when she does it. I tried squealing but I felt like a dork and didn't sound anything like a rat squeal. I tried EEPing and I can eep just fine and Sally did take notice and has already slowed down nibbling me. It's not aggressive biting, she isn't trying to hurt me but either is inviting me into her cage, or she's feeling me, to see what I'm made of but with her teeth.
I've put the cages next to each other and Sweetie and Dora don't seem interested in each other but boy, Sally wants to get at Sweetie! Chews in the bars, huffs and puffs kicking up the bedding wanted to sniff her or get at her. Not sure if being side by side is going to get them used to smelling each other or if its making Sally aggressive towards Sweetie when they will meet for the first time. *sigh*
Bun-Bun, or rather Clark, the bunny is doing well also. He has a harness and leash and I can take him outside on. Lincoln can open his cage so he messes with him on and off all the time. I like to hold him while I'm on the computer at night - he's a good cuddler!
Still have Concho, the turtle. I finally got a replacement part for my Python water system. I have a hose that connects to my kitchen since facet and it allows me to suction and drain the water from his tank into the sink. Then with a flip of a switch like, I can fill the tank up. Easy peasy! One of the parts is plastic and I've had to remove it several times with pliers so it stripped the plastic threads and I replaced it with a metal part and it works beautifully now!
