What a damn busy weekend I had! Whew! It was very productive but I'm glad to be back at work today and able to sloooow down.

Friday I left work early and flew home. Picked up some food to make for this picnic and then Lidia brought Henry & Lincoln home after keeping them all day Friday. I had Henrique & Bryant put their handprints on the t-shirt we made Celso for Fathers Day so it'd be ready Sunday. Then I quickly made BBQ sausages and mac 'n cheese and left for the park. One of my friends and fellow parenting group member is moving to Iowa very soon so we had a good-bye party for her. She choose to have it at Antioch Park, which happens to be where Celso & I got married. Towards the back of the park they have a wonderful picnic area, 2 large playground areas and a little play town. (Little wooden buildings painted and arranged to look like an old western town).
We enjoyed the company of friends and good food.

Saturday morning I got up at 6am to start my long day. The husband of one of my friends was at my house at 6:50am to help me. He and I headed over to Lincolns sitters house to assemble her new swing set for the kids. Her husband offered that if I put the swing set together they'd give me a weeks free of daycare. You bet I said! Mike, my friends husband graciously offered to help me put the swing set together. Two adults are definitely required! He and I started on the swingset at 7:15am and we left at noon and we had it about 2/3 completed.
I then went home and got Henry ready for his baseball game that started at 1:30pm. After the game we left and drove to a little down called Tonganoxie Kansas. CUTE SMALL country town. 2500 people. I loved it! Tonganoxie is on my list of places to look should(when) we ever move. Great little close knit community. Terrific 4H club for the boys. Quaint old homes build in the 1800s. Cute and little but I said that already.
What were we doing in Tonganoxie? I answered an 'ad' on Freecycle for a guinea pig cage. Been thinking about getting a pig but getting the cage is the biggest cost. I could adopt a pig from an animal shelter for the same price as buying one too… So we went out and picked it up. And AFTER I accepted the pig cage last week I answered another email 'ad' for 2 rabbits. 2 rabbits with cages, food and accessories. So we are now the proud owners of 2 tri-colored rabbits named Lewis and Clark. Cute little guys although they aren't that little. They are a lap full for Lincoln for sure and nearly a nap full for Henry. They are sweet and used to be handled already so they're fitting right in. I've put both cages in Henry's room so we can close the door and keep Copper out. I hope to be able to let them out in Henrys room for hopping time and also maybe rig a round pen up outside for fresh-air-hopping-time.
Oh, I also stopped at a garage sale in Tongie and bought a PC tower for $5 and the guy threw in 3 CD drives cause he hadn't tested any of them to see if they work. eee!
So after chitchatting with the Tongie residents I drove back home (45min trip). A couple friends and also members of my parenting group came over to buy some of Lincolns old diapers and visit. Ain't it great that I can sell these diapers 1yr+ later after he's potty trained and get money back on diapers?
We sat around for a bit, talking, drinking, being served/entertained by Henry and also Lincoln from time to time. It was guuuoood.

Sunday morning we went to church and Sunday school. Came home, ate lunch then I went back to the sitters house to finish the swing set. 2 hours later I was done and mighty proud of my work. Then I got home and called my friend Kenna and made arrangements to go out to her house 30 min away and mow her yard that is 3/4 of an acre AND that hadn't been mowed in a month. Her yard is beautiful! Deep and wide it was fun mowing! 2.5 hours later I was done and exhausted. Today my hands hurt, my thighs and calves are sore and I'm sunburned. 'Twas a great weekend – really!
