Not only is this blog for my dear family and friends to keep tabs on my life but I also am writing this blog for myself. I am printing the history out to keep for myself to read when I'm a wrinkled old lady. I also hope to have my kids read it when they are older. I love reading my diaries from when I was 8 to 18. Fascinating! I think about what if my mom kept a diary or blogged - what would I have learned about her?
So let me touch on some things I've missed.
Yesterday, I kissed Lincoln to wake him up and he jerked away from me and loudly said "I had the balloon first!!" Guess he was dreaming - we've been playing with water balloons and volleying regular balloons a lot recently. But he's got such an attitude! BUT he has a lot of confidence too. This morning I woke him up and he woke up fairly well. I told him that I was going to work, he said '"bye" and I said "I love you" and he says "I lub vu Mommy" and I said "Have a good day" and he just threw a kiss in the air towards me. He's so funny and cute!
We've been home from camping for nearly 3 weeks yet we just found a tick on Bryant yesterday. Henrique was still finding a couple ticks here and there on Copper. He and I bathed him last weekend in flea and tick shampoo and we haven't seen anymore since. I wish I hadn't delayed in bathing him so long.
I took all the boys out last night. Henry had a home alone safety class at 6pm so Henrique, Bryant, Lincoln and I went to Gameco to browse and then we went to a park to play. Henrique had an ear infection and didn't feel well so he stayed in the car while we were at the park. I had signed up Henrique & Bryant for the home alone class at 7:15pm so we headed back. Henrique didn't feel well so he stayed with me but Bryant went to class. Then my mom met us at the class and brought dinner! Good Mommy/Grammy she is. She made EIGHT peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! She brought a big ole bag of tortilla chips and 4 SunnyDelights for the kids to drink. We had our little dinner in the van then I took the kids to the library.
The older 3 signed up for some summer reading program. Henrique & I signed up for a child/adult book discussion group. Our first meeting is tonight! They gave us the book and we're both supposed to have it done by tonight for the meeting (yeah right!)
I read the first 5 chapters outloud to all the guys and we are really enjoying the book. Oh, we are reading Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.
So tonight Henrique and I will go to the library for the discussion but all the boys and I have to make a Fathers Day 2006 shirt for Celso. We made him one in 2003 when Lincoln was 5 weeks old and he's asked for a newer, updated one. It'll be hard for me to make this shirt and I'm sure it'll be emotional for Celso when he gets it on Sunday.
