How did an entire week go by without me blogging? I know I've thought about things to blog about... hmm, guess I just got busy.
It is 87 degrees in my house. That is hot, and humid. Ick. I'm hussling around the house packing and getting ready for the camping trip. I'm excited!
I have an awesome check list I complied and it is making things less stressful on myself. I'll have most packed tonight and in the van, only leaving the food and a few other things for the morning. Plan is to eat breakfast here and get on the road. Sandwiches in route. According to the website it is 2.5 hours from Kansas City. I've been looking at maps on various sites for a week and I don't believe it. I'm saying 4 hours - I'll let you know exactly how many hours when we return.
I did talk Celso into 2 nights - YAY! I borrowed a twin air mattress (thank you Amanda) for him to sleep on. All 4 boys are going with us too!
I've planned a good menu for us too. I hope it all goes off without a hitch.
We're going to grill brats tomorrow night and classic smores for dessert. Sunday: French toast (camp style from hamburger buns) for breakfast, sandwiches again (we'll be on the river), Hobo burgers (burgers in foil packets) for dinner and apple pies on sticks for dessert. Monday: potatoes/bacon/egg skillet breakfast with donuts and then we'll hit the road. Wish us luck (with the van) and hope we have a GREAT time!
