Over a week since posted last. Thought about it almost daily but the past week+ has been one hit after another.

Celso is going through an emotional period right now and it is very draining on the entire family. I tell him that we need to talk and he says"talk about what?" grrr!

We/He has to go to court this Thursday at 11am. Got another garnishment notice in the mail last week.. He forgot to tell me! He received it Thursday and I talked to him late Friday afternoon and said we'd probably get another (after my lovely conversation with their lawyer) and he informs me "Oh yeah, we got one yesterday". AARRUGH! So I fly down to the court house in tears to do something about this BS. I have to buy a form for $1 and fill it out and they give us a court date for this week. I don't know what to expect and I'm going to do a lot of reading about representing myself pro se.

Then we had busy weekend. Easter was great until that night. Our beloved dog Copper, bit Lincoln... for the second time. I took Lincoln to the urgent care center at Children's Mercy hospital. We were there for 2.5 hours and left with 3 stitches. He has 3 puncture wounds total.
Lincoln had just fed Copper and the wrong things played out, Lincoln got down by Coppers bowl and it happened. Copper has NEVER snapped or growled at anyone before so we're shocked. I wish he'd give a warning but he doesn't.
My first reaction was: this is it, we have to get rid of Copper. This is the second time it's happened so it's time to take action, right? Well now I'm having second thoughts. The first time he bit, I think Lincoln was touching his genital area. He had been known to do that but we haven't seen him do it since it got bit. This time it was over food which is a commonly known fact about dogs being protective of their food.
So I thought: we'll, we just can't get a dog until Lincoln is older. Copper is the best dog so any other dog wouldn't be any better. But now I'm thinking: what if we keep Copper away from Lincoln when he eats - food and treats. But what if he is outside and finds food, Lincoln doesn't know it, approaches Copper and it happens again. IF it'd happen again, who knows how bad it could be. His lip, his eye, deeper wounds. But what if it doesn't? Lincoln is almost 3 years old. In 2 years he'll be so much more mature and understanding of what he can and can't do in relation to the dog, right? I'd trust a 5 year old with a dog... with this dog. But I don't have a 5 year old, I have a 3 year old.

Work... work has been super busy and fairly stressful. I have (had) a pretty laid back, kick ass job until recently. We just moved to a new computer system and I'm one of people leading this. I do like the newness of it, the challenge of learning, but I'm not so much a people person. I fall short in patience and it's hard when people don't catch on as quickly as I expect them to. So in addition to learning new computer stuff, I'm learning to take deep, frequent breathes, bite my tongue and just try and relax. Relax Kara, just relax.
