I had a Seinfeld episode happen to me on Friday. I went to Wal-mart to do my grocery shopping for the cooking club. Had my price-comparison list in hand and ready to go. I get to the register and the cashier was a grayed, 60-70 year old woman - in training. Fine, I'm not in a big rush. I have time and I'm in a fairly good mood since the boys were good while I shopped.
Well, I inform her right away that I have several items that I have differently prices for due to the price-matching program. This is what she looked like :
I'm a bit surprised and unsure how to react. I really just smiled and was going to be patient with her. She has to learn how to do the price-match sometime, right?
Well it went from bad to unbelievable! At one point I'm laughing on the inside in shock from her attitude. Then I think of the TV shows I've done like this such as MTV's Boiling Point's and I look around for someone watching her or cameras. I'm ready for someone to jump out and stop this crazy woman. But alas, it goes on, and on. This woman rips my bags from the bagging carousel and glares at me, raises her arm then drops the bags into my cart! Unreal! Her comments just escalated and were crazy. I wouldn't of been too surprised if she just quit and walked off the job. She obviously hated it so much. However it was me who in the end had enough. I walked out of there and left all $111 of my groceries there. Yep, it was THAT bad. When I got home I called Wal-Mart, gave them a summary of what happened and they apologized and told me that I'd have a $25 gift card waiting for me at the customer service desk. Since I was only expecting a half-assed apology I was content with the gift card. I went back Saturday to re-shop and that same woman was there again. Guess she didn't get fired but I hope she got written up or something. Crotchety, bitter old hag
On to more lighter note, I spent several hours in the yard working Saturday. My knees ache today and the palm of my right hand is bruised. I wonder just how many dandelions I dug up. We're not putting any pre-emergent down this year since we're seeding at the same time. So the only way to control the weeds is to dig 'em up. I have the boys pull the heads off everyday after school so they won't go to seed. Then I have been digging up the weeds on the weekends. My job is to dig the weeds and Celso puts down grass seed, then soil, then Turface. Not sure both soil and Turface is needed but who am I to say anything. If I do, I'm likely to end up doing it all myself and I much rather have the help.
Sunday morning Mom, the boys and I were up and around getting ready for church.
Mom turned the TV on and
TIME CHANGE! We forgot! I was supposed to be at the 8:30am service to take part in the new member celebration. Well crap!
So we got up there just before the service ended and apologized for being late. We skipped Sunday school and went to have breakfast. Returned for the 11am service and took part in that.
We went to Mitchells birthday party yesterday afternoon. Lincoln got a preview of what a birthday part is like and what he's will be like. He and Mitchell are so cute running around together. It has been a hoot to watch the boys grow up together and watch them hit the milestones and different times.
