Aww peace and quiet at 6:35am on a Sunday morning. Usually I'm not rearing to go this early on a weekend but I am looking forward to this day.
First, I am running the Powerpoint presentation at church this morning. Not a big deal in itself but I do enjoy church and I do look forward to it. Then after the first morning service, I usually go to sunday school but today I am going "Aldersgate 101". It is a class to tell me more about the Methodist church and the Aldersgate church specifically. I am looking foward to that class as well.
Then we will come home and get ready to go to my friends farm. I've been buying fresh eggs from her since July of last year. We went to her farm back in September I think too. We're going now in the spring to see the baby piggies and the baby chicks. I'll also check out the new Mr.Moo#2. When I went in September I saw her Mr.Mow#1 and then about 2 months later I him 1/4 of him packaged up in my freezer! So next October I will have 1/4 of this new Mr.Moo#2. I also hope to be able to afford to buy some of a pig too. The chicks are just egg layers. She isn't interested in raising chickens to eat (darn!).
See her chickens last year really made me want to get some chickens to have here at home. I contacted the city and they were going to make me jump through too many hoops to have them here and I feel even if I did everything they were asking of me, then they would still say no.
So when we go to Terri's today we'll have lunch and eat burgers (from Mr.Moo#1) and bratwurst (from Hy-Vee) and all the side trimmings. Yum!
Other business:
Ants. I have ants... little, tiny black sugar ants... again... inside my house... on my kitchen counter... and dining room walls. AARRGGHH! I can't seem to make my house inhospitable to ants. The counter is nearly blank/empty/barran. What is it that makes it so dang tempting to come into my house!! I squish them, I squirt them with window cleaner, I squirt them with hot water out of the water spiket thingy. Bah! I have also left their dead little carcuses all over the counter for 2 days in hopes that the new ants would come, freak at the site of their dead realitives laying all over the counter like a bloody battlefield and they'd go home and warn the others that this isn't the house to come to. Umm, no. That too didn't work.
All the boys won their soccer games yesterday! Henry SMOKED the other team. The officials don't keep score at this level but the parents and kids do! It was 8:3!
Bryants team did well too and won 2:1. I was really looking forward to Henriques game as this is a newly formed team but they've been doing so well in practice so I was anxious to see how they'd play together. They played against a team that has been playing together for 5 years! The other team, the Bulldogs, had some great players but we too had some great players. It was a good game but we won 2:1!
No games next weekend as there isa big tournament in town that will take up most of the Olathe area soccer fields.
