Celso and I spent most of our time outside this weekend. At 7am Saturday morning we were outside cleaning up the yard. 2 weeks ago I killed a large area in the backyard to prep it for growing grass. So Saturday we cleaned it up, raking and cutting and bagging. I quit at 9am to come inside to make lunches to take with us, he quit at 9:30am. We left at 10am to make a couple stops on our way to Henry's soccer game which started at 11:15am. Ate lunch in the car and then headed to Celso Henrique's soccer game which started at 1:15pm. Back at the house after that, rested and cleaned up a bit and then headed out to rent a verticutter. I started using that on the yard while Celso raked and bagged some more. Henry's friend came over to spend the night so those boys were busy running around and had a great time. Celso and I quit at 7pm and we were both sooo exhausted. Today I feel like I was in a football game and got my ass kicked! I am so sore throughout my back and shoulders. owie!! Sunday we were outside again early AM and finished using the verticutter and took it back. Stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things for Henry's baday party which started at 1pm. Most of the guests came at 1pm but a few family stragglers that don't operate on the regular time schedule showed up late and didn't leave until 9pm - heh. Long day, longer weekend.

Henry's party went well. He had 3 friends from his soccer team come (only 6 on a team including Henry, the other 2 boys couldn't make it). He also had Alicia who he's know his entire life and Cole and Tanon whom he know fairly well. Their mom babysat Henry and Lincoln for a couple months and I'm still friend with her.
The boys basically played inidie and outside and just generally ran around. Henry got some great gifts: a watch, 2 pair of jeans, 3 pair socks, Hawaiian visor, remote control car thingy, a chargeable foam airplane, 2 foam/Nerf balls, a basketball return thingy http://www.modells.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1064234 and a new shirt and some awesome shoes. ON his birthday he got from me: a leather belt with his name on it, skateboard with new wrist and knee guards, a gold necklace that he LUVS! He's Mr.Fashion now!

This weekend Celso and I decided that I'm not going to Salvador for Christmas. The money we would have spent on that is getting spent on the yard and house. We have some major and not-so-major repairs that need to be done to the house. I'm having a couple trees trimmed and a couple totally cut down this week. I'm also having several cubic yards of dirt delivered and we're paying a friend to distribute it around the house as we need - we have NO time this week to do it. This weekend we're laying sod and/or planting seed. Not sure if I want to do sod, but I'm thinking it'll be easier and for the best in the large areas if we do.I also am getting the carpets cleaned - yeehaw! and the chimney cleaned out. So excited thinking about having a fire again. Haven't used the chimney in 2 years!! I'm also going to have to call some guttering company and get bids on replacing the gutters - they suck!
